  • New rules for the use of antimicrobials in pig production

    Ukraine has updated the principles and rules for the use of antimicrobials in veterinary medicine. This is an important step in the fight against antibiotic resistance and ensuring the health of animals and consumers, implemented by the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders as part of the technical assistance project ‘Ensuring Animal Health in Ukraine’ with the support of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

    The best practices of biosecurity of domestic pig farms and training videos, which were filmed by the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders (AUPB) within the framework of the project ‘’Keeping Pigs Healthy in Ukraine‘’, implemented by the association in cooperation with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), were presented to the academic staff and students of Dnipro National Agrarian and Economic University.

  • Monitoring the health status of finishers in Ukraine

    Monitoring of intestinal pathogens and their resistance in fattening pigs was carried out at the initiative of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders within the framework of a joint project with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) ‘Ensuring Animal Health in Ukraine’ at the Research Centre for Biosafety and Environmental Control of Agricultural Resources of the State Agrarian and Food Academy of Ukraine (Biosafety-Centre).

  • Raising veterinary standards: how Ukraine monitors pathogens in pigs

    Ukraine continues to conduct microbiological monitoring of bacterial pathogens in pigs as part of the project of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders (AUPB) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) "Keeping Animals Healthy in Ukraine". The research included determining antibiotic susceptibility using the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method.

  • USDA and AUPB Continue to Support Pork Producers in War Times

    Since the beginning of January 2024, the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders (AUPB) have been implementing the second phase of the Animal Health in Ukraine project, aimed at supporting pork producers in the area of epizootic welfare.
